Portrait of the spanish aristocrat juan francisco de pimentel (1584-1652), 10th count and 7th duke of benavente and also count of mayorga and luna. The sitter appears more than half-length, clad in armor and accompanied by numerous insignia, such as the red sash and the flare, which demonstrate the high rank he held in the spanish army, as well as the collar of the order of the golden fleece, of which he was a knight.
