Georges Dilly — La Dernière Heure en Flandre. vº-rº, Georges Dilly, 1906

Georges dilly — the last hour in flanders. – wicar prize 1906 – postcard published at the beginning of the 20th century for the paris salons. “voyée” in 1913. The painting is at the muba in tourcoing. A text by charles grandel was pasted on the "address/correspondence" side of the card: "vicue the dying man is in his last hour. – a venerable priest and that age has broken, came to console the already frozen heart, crosses the threshold of the sad abode. From the pious and good (good and holy) old man, this man before he dies received forgiveness and forgetting of the past; the redemptive sign that his hand traced moved his soul and gently he cries. He is the confidant of the supreme farewells, he who, chasing away doubt and discovering the heavens, has changed this anguish into divine essence. (text on another card → see other versions.
