description:
endowed with a keen sense of observation, the painter endeavored to represent trees, grasses, flowers, birds, fish and insects associated with specific times of the year, according to a pictorial genre which shows the evolution of the landscape from one month to the next (tsukinami-e). This work is dedicated to the seventh month of the year. Bottom left, four fish, perhaps ayu. Not far away, another fish which, on its own, rises to the top of the composition. Here, on the right, a rock is laden with grasses and white and blue flowers. Marks, inscriptions, hallmarks:
