Ivan Enchev-Vidyu Bulgarian Folk Crosses 225, February 1917

225. Cross from the icon "st. Nicholas" from the church "st. Dimitrii" in the city lyaskovets. Painted in oils on the loins of the saint, a dark blue (ultramarine) background which becomes lighter from left to right. It is painted with red paint (epdnzspkl). Parallel to its contour, a thin white line runs from the outside. The wings of the cross expand outward. In front of each end is drawn one large and one small elliptical dot; from its corners comes a single ray; white palmettes are drawn with white paint against the rays above the white ruler. Waist dimensions: 11. 5 cm high, 9. 5 cm wide. The icon is worked on a board primed with plaster and canvas. It bears an inscription dated 1864. Sketched in february 1917. (t. 3, obr. 32. ).
