Johan frederik rost (. . - 1843) was a police doctor and also a keen amateur musician and played chamber music together with eckersberg. The two men apparently met each other for the first time in connection with a medical consultation on 12 june 1818 (diaries, vol. 1, p. 145). Rost is first mentioned as "our friend" on 14 june 1820 (ibid. , p. 171). After this, he is mentioned very frequently in the diary until his death in 1843 (ibid. , p. 997). Object Type: painting.
