'launch of lusitania'
inscribed by the artist, as title, lower right. A view looking up from fine off the starboard bow at the 'lusitania' on her launching cradle at john brown's yard, clydebank, with flags flying for that event on 7 june 1906. Wyllie was presumably present, though whether drawings he made there were the basis for published news illustrations remains to be determined. [pvdm 10/13]. Date: circa 1906. Dimensions: 452 mm x 291 mm. Collection: Fine art.
