Wall painting in the klarenthal monastery with the donor portrait of king adolf of nassau, his wife imagina, seven sons and three daughters. Drawing from the epitaph book, heinrich dors, 1632. In the middle field of the upper part, in the middle of a three-axis canopy, it shows an enlarged enthroned, crowned and haloed pair of saints, who were interpreted as christ and mary. Christ, who was holding a closed book in his left hand, pointed with his right hand to his mother, who was pointing her right hand in a gesture of recommendation to the model of the church handed to her by the donor couple. The model of the church was framed by an inscription with a prayer or bible text. The lower part of the picture was filled with the donor couple and their family, who are shown standing next to each other or kneeling in a gesture of prayer. In the middle on the left stood imagina in a long robe with a veil, to her right her name inscribed, behind her the three daughters each with an inscription, and at the end her son walram. At the feet of their mother knelt the two boys adolf and walram, who died young. King adolf, dressed in an ermine coat, knelt on the right and was inscribed with a name to the right of the church model; directly above his head dors noted the year and crossed out the name. Adolf's sons each had their names above their heads. Between the couple was a coat of arms, below which were his two crowns. Date: 1632.
