One, wearing a tricorn, is represented with a goat's head, the other has a hare's head which is almost concealed by an imposing sapper's hair cap. They carry the saber at their side. In front of them, a little mulatress represented with the face of a monkey presents them with small bouquets or tobacco. In the background, another soldier is standing, his hands in his pockets, he has the head of a hare. Excerpt from métamorphoses du jour (see plate 31 for who do you take me?. . .
