Edith plantagenet (who is in love with sir kenneth) and richard's queen berengeria are already in the tent with the same purpose as the hermit, whose position and gesture, however, seem to have been taken from scratch. Of the 5th chapter: "but on the threshold he turned and raised his hand to the king, in a warning and almost threatening posture" (the talisman, a tale by the author of waverley, quentin durwar, translated from english, published by c.
