Behind this illustrious musician, the castle of course, but above all the famous charles bridge (karlův most) with its powerful buttresses, its statues on each pile and its countless tourists. To return to our artist from the end of the 19th century, smetana was mainly an opera composer and he remained in the history of the country for having wanted to infuse the czech nationalist movement into his works. And became an example for all subsequent czech artists. And to say what a character he was, he lost his hearing over the course of a life full of noise but even after becoming totally deaf, he continued to compose and perform. This statue was installed here for the centenary of his disappearance right next to the eponymous museum (building on the left of the photo in the comments) and in the shade of a pleasant willow tree.
