Beneath his likeness, the portuguese coat of arms, with the royal crown on top. Two of the fates, clotho and larchesis, stare at the king, holding a spindle and a thread. On a banner, it is written: «vivo equidem, vitamque. Extremam per omnia duco», a reference to the king's misfortune. Date: 1737. Medium: engraving.
