Jakob Kulle Hos kloka gumman, Jakob Kulle, 1875

At the wise old woman. Oil painting. A wise old woman or fortune teller wants to try to with the help of cards and coffee grounds predict a young man's future; this one stands behind the sibyl, anxiously waiting to hear what he has to say fate. Two old men are also visiting the old woman and have settled down at the old woman's sofa, but seem to have something to negotiate between themselves. One of them has wide knees out a large-flowered handkerchief, on which lies half a loaf and, it seems, a good one piece of fat pork. Being a hired wise old woman is quite rewarding. The old man apparently owns a good household, and the cabin does not lack precious textiles either. And what the big blue-painted chest contains of precious things, no one can know. The floor, however, is of the simpler kind, d. V. Pp. Of stamped loam. - gerda cederblom. Date: 1875.
