Watercolour by rev. John swete (1752-1821) entitled "watermouth, seat of {blank} davie esq. " this was the palladian building near ilfracombe, north devon, demolished by joseph davie of orleigh court and replaced by watermouth castle, which survives today. Devon record office, ref 564m/f10/167, published in gray, todd & rowe, margery (eds. ), travels in georgian devon: the illustrated journals of the reverend john swete, 1789-1800, vol. 3, tiverton, 1999, p. 87. Date: 1796.
