Triptych: Mr Peter Ducane, Mary, nee Norris, his wife & The Ducane Children, Arthur Devis, 1747

Peter ducane (1713-1804) was a merchant, governor and director of both the bank of england and the east india company. His wife, was a wealthy heiress, the only duaghter of henry norris, a muscovy merchant. The family are depicted in the grounds of their house at braxted in essex.
