The frigate Jylland and the corvette Heimdal., Carl Baagøe, 1875

When iceland celebrated 1,000 years of settlement in 1874, the king of denmark, christian ix, paid a visit to the island as its sovereign. A small naval division was formed for the journey across the north atlantic, consisting of the steam frigate jylland and the steam corvette heimdal. The king was lodged aboard the jylland.
