Study for the diptych "Irreconcilables", Fernand Pelez

Fernand pelez (1848-1913) study for the diptych "irréconciliables". Oil on canvas board, signed. Around 1880. Painted part: 39. 3 x 66. 2 cm. Private collection. The model at the same age and with the same rags, appears on the paintings "gamin des rues", dated 1880 (musée national des beaux-arts du québec) and "sans asile" (petit palais, salon of 1883). Pelez presented his "irréconciliables" diptych at the 1882 salon, with a portrait of a street child on the left with a stone in his hand and a boy of the same age in a rich lace dress on the right. This work generated dozens of articles in the press of the time, its current location is unknown. Fernand Pelez Irréconciliable
