Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1943-12-10) letter no. 215 (1943-12-13) next letter (1943-12-19) envelope: front back text warsaw, december 13, 1943. My beloved mother! i have now arrived here in warsaw. How long i will stay here and what will happen next is uncertain. In any case, my health is very good. My feet are getting better day by day, and there is no sign of the frostbite at all. Hopefully it doesn't heal too quickly! i had a great time on my 22nd birthday; we had beer and the nurses, with whom i had gotten on very well in the other hospital, brought me wine, biscuits and eggs. My comrades all congratulated me and i was very happy. Date: 13 December 1943.
