The texas was built by c. Connell & co. Of glasgow (yard no. 248), launched in march 1899 and delivered in april 1899 to the d. F. D. S. Shipping company. She was mainly employed between denmark and the united states, doing her last atlantic voyage in 1929. Made one trip between copenhagen and emden in 1930 and was then laid up. Sold for scrap in copenhagen in 1933. The experts at bruun rasmussen saw gulbrandsen as a danish painter ("guldbrandsen"), but that is not how he signed the painting. Object Type: painting.
