European settlers in the locality of prévost-paradol (today mechera sfa), algeria, at the beginning of the 20th century. By decision of the governor general in 1891, the population center of mechera sfa was called prévost-paradol, named after the journalist and essayist lucien-anatole prévost-paradol who advocated making algeria a french settlement colony in his book la france nouvelle (1868). The center was established as a full-fledged municipality by decree of december 28, 1928. Date: between 1900 and 1903.
