Albert Mérat, Bernhard Österman, between 1908 and 1926

Painting depicting albert mérat, writer and librarian of the french academy. Gold frame. A previously executed portrait of mérat (slm 37721) is dated 1903 on the back. According to bernhard, these portraits are the only ones he himself requested to paint after completing his studies. The reason for this was a meeting with the poet merat in a cafe in paris.
