demolition of the old vestibule of the royal palace, 1st arrondissement. Open-air vestibule. In the foreground, a pile of stone blocks and a few people: three men, a woman in front of a washer (?) and two others stretching across the entire width of the vestibule. In the background, the wall of the vestibule is decorated with columns topped with pilasters, between which alternate sculptures placed inside niches. Historical commentary:
this vestibule was located on the site of the "new vestibule", built on the plans of constant d'ivry and giving access to the grand staircase (see champier, the palais royal, t. 1, pp. 378 and 379). Acquisition mode: unknown acquisition mode
