Tailpiece to the catalogue of the pictures exhibited by the society of artists, at their first exhibition in spring gardens; a monkey in the garb of a connoisseur holds a watering can in its left paw and squints through a magnifying glass held in the other, watering three withered stumps in flower pots labelled 'obit 1502. ', 'obit 1600', '[o]bit [1]604', underneath which is a scroll lettered 'exoticks'. 7 may 1761 etching and engraving. Date: 1761. Dimensions: Height: 123 mm (cropped); Width: 140 mm. Medium: paper.
