Procession of Knights of the Garter, Marcus Gheeraerts the Elder, 1576

One of nine sheets, this sheet shows the start of the procession with the royal arms and praises of the order, along with a verger and two alms knights. The british museum series is only one of three surviving copies, none complete. The other two are in the office of the garter king of arms and in the collection of the bodleian library at oxford.
