Imperial days in hanover: welcoming her majesty the empress in linden, schwarzer bär. The handwriting on the postcard reads: "september 3, 1898: jobst knigge presents the empress with a bouquet. " one of the two boys in sailor suits is marked "jobst. " in the background is the former ihmen bridge (later the ihme bridge, now the benno-ohnesorg bridge) and the buildings in the former ohe district. Most of the men on the right side of the picture have taken off their hats. The houses behind them still stand at the schwarzer bär today. Date: 3 September 1898.
