Astrid of Sweden, later Queen consort of the Belgians, Bernhard Österman, 1930s

Portrait of princess astrid from the 1930s. The portrait shows the queen in half-length, slightly turned to the right, in a black dress with a long and wide v-shaped neckline. The long pearl necklace, the queen holds together in her right hand. The bright face with its gentle shadows and the friendly mouth, as well as the hair provide a nice contrast to the green background. The richly designed frame with foliage and various pearl band ornaments is crowned by the belgian coat of arms with crown and palm branches and leaf bands to the sides. Date: 1930s.
