The Obedient Son of Yôrô, a story from the Ten Moral Lessons, Yashima Gakutei, between 1820 and 1825

The woodcutter kôsagi stands by a waterfall, with a gourd and his ax next to him. The poor woodcutter wanted to provide his parents with rice wine (sake) every day, but one day when he had no money for sake, he filled his gourd with water from the yôrô waterfall. The gods turned the water into sake because he took such good care of his parents. The first poem: the boy first drinks the water from the waterfall and then offers his parents a cup of spicy rice wine. Second poem: food for the elderly, but also immortals come here to drink the rice wine from the mist.
