Photograph of a seated woman in an actress-pose and wearing lipstick, by t & j holroyd of harrogate. The photographers were brothers thomas holroyd (1821–1904) and james holroyd (c. 1825–1874). Thomas was a portrait and landscape painter, and james was a photographer, both from harrogate, north yorkshire, england. Although they were both credited, it was james who took most of the photographs. Note: this is an odd pose, which gives the impression that her right arm is missing - but that may be just the angle of the photograph. She is wearing a wedding ring on her left hand. Behind and below her left hand are possibly the fingers of her right hand. Date: between 1863 and 1872.
