My beloved mother! today we are a little further behind the front for a day of peace! it is a nice change to be in a house again, even if it is only a shack. The other comrades have gone to the front-line home. I have already seen the film and am staying behind as quarter guard. It is very quiet in here now, so i have time to write. You have received all my mail, have you? the letter with poldi's picture has not arrived yet! i have always received the weekly review so far. There will be mail again tomorrow morning, hopefully i will have something with it again! it is the only joy here. I cannot report much [new information about myself. ]. Date: 22 November 1943.
