iconographic description:
the body is decorated with stamped patterns of cranes and clouds. This motif of cranes with stylized clouds, called "unkaku-de", appears on large karatsu dishes dating from the mid-19th century. Apparently, the same stamp was used to create all of the decorations. This pattern appears to have already been used in the 17th century on the island of shikoku, at the odo factory, near kōchi in the south, as well as at yonose, near ozu in the west of japan.
