The experts at bruun rasmussen identified this as a view of a danish coastal town. They were not wrong, but a closer inspection would have revealed that it is in fact a repeat of richardt's 1840 painting of the landscape near svendborg, sold to den kongelige malerisamling ("the royal collection of paintings") in 1841.
