Irenej friderik baraga, servant of god (june 29, 1797 – january 19, 1868) was a slovene american roman catholic missionary, bishop, and grammarian. Original description: bishop frederic baraga, three-quarter length portrait, facing three-quarters to right, seated, in clerical robes, holding his dictionary of the otchipwe language. Date: between 1853 and 1860.
