The beakhead bulkhead of the english second-rate 'charles', 1668 a trimmed drawing showing a close three-quarter view of the beakhead bulkhead (that is, the foremost section) of the charles – identifiable from the lion figure-head, the top part of which is visible in the lower centre of the page. The forecastle and the ship’s distinctive projecting galleries are crowded with people. The image is an offset that has been worked with graphite overdrawing, and is similar to (though not taken from) the upper right section of paj2300.
