Ship portrait., Emanuel Petersen, between 1912 and 1948
A text on the verso identified the vessel as the danish frigate jylland and the experts at bruun rasmussen went along with that. But jylland was a larger ship and had a funnel. The rigging is also different: there are too many sails on the two forward masts and no square rigging on the mizzen mast, giving the ship the appearance of a barque and not a frigate. Object Type: painting. Date: between 1912 and 1948. Dimensions: height: 48 cm (18.8 in); width: 34.5 cm (13.5 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Unknown. Emanuel A. Petersen - Skibsportræt
