The ship of the line Christian VIII leaves the roads of Copenhagen for the last time, tugged by the steamer Copenhagen, later Slesvig., Christian Eckardt, circa 1904

This scene took place in march 1849, when eckardt was 16 and studying at the art academy in copenhagen, so he may have witnessed it.
