This set of portraits was produced during the expedition or in france using lead pencil then engraved with etching. Dutertre's portraits were published in "scientific and military history of the french expedition in egypt", in 10 volumes published for louis reybaud, achille de vaulabelle and jean-joseph marcel, in 1830-1836.
