Christ is on the cross, to whom the sponge is held out and surrounded by the two thieves. At his feet, soldiers, pilate and the high priest on horseback are turned towards him. A group of soldiers are playing dice with christ's cloak at the bottom right. At the bottom left, the virgin is collapsed in the arms of saint john.
