description:
this type of dish called ishizara (lit. "stone dish") is made using a solid sandstone with a light coating, the decoration of which is marked by the use of iron oxide and cobalt blue. Painted in a very stylized manner, the motifs, often auspicious, are mainly inspired by nature. They display a supple and refined style, as shown by this dish decorated with three flowers, the species of which it is difficult to determine, admirably arranged in relation to the hemispherical shape which characterizes this type of tableware with thick walls and an inverted and flattened edge.
