Le saphir émeraude

Le saphir émeraude

Ornismya bicolor lesson, 1828 = eucephala hypocyanea gould, 1860 = thaumatias neglectus elliot 1877??? according gould: this is rather small, but distinctly marked species, unallied to any other bird. Lesson's plate 49 of his 'histoire naturelle des oiseaux mouche' appears to have been taken from a bird of this kind; but the term bicolor cannot for a moment be entertained. And according hbw: chlorostilbon hypocyaneus, known only from two trade skins from e brazil (bahia), may be a hybrid of present species (hylocharis cyanus) with chlorostilbon notatus, or a mutant of latter species, or possibly even a valid species. Date: 1 February 1828, 16:20:47.
