M. A] plane arrived - this was the signal to attack. At 2. 15 a. M. Sharp the first cannon shot rang out and then all the guns started firing. There was a wild crash and thunder. And then the first russian planes came. There were 8 of them. They flew towards germany. After about 2 hours they came back. Then all of a sudden our fighters appeared! it was a wonderful sight. One russian after the other suddenly started to burn and sank. Suddenly a russian bomber turned around and came towards us. There is already a fighter there and it takes barely 5 seconds before it is already burning. Bright flames rise and the first one jumps out with a parachute. The plane crashes on. Date: 27 June 1941.
