From the auction notes: the portrayed are the manufacturer christen niemann rosenkilde sødring (1852–1929) and margrethe henriette rosenkilde sødring, née hornemann (1861–1942). Ancher did also paint a double portrait of the couple. “after the last battue”, from 1905, is owned by skagens museum (inventory no. 309). ("hjem fra jagten" is also known as "efter sidste såt").
