"thus, in rørbye's travel diary, he recounted in several places that he was invited inside by the locals and was given free board and lodging. Rørbye depicted the encounter with the unspoiled village culture and the welcoming locals partly through depictions of their traditions and community and partly by depicting the locals in everyday work situations, where he recorded them without disturbing them (ill. 6-7)" (grand 2012: 47).
