The building of the university library was built between 1873-1876 on the corner of ferenciek tere and realtanoda street, in neo-renaissance style, based on the plans of antal szkalnitzky and henrik koch the younger. It was the first building in hungary designed specifically for library purposes. Its façade sgraffitos were designed by than mór, and the walls of its large reading room feature frescoes by károly lotz. Date: 1875.
