Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1941-03-02) letter no. 4 (1941-03-10) next letter (1941-03-23) envelope: front back text [otherwise we would have had to be in bed by 8:30 a. M. ] i am particularly pleased that dad is working hard and being well-behaved, and the main thing is that he is healthy. I just want him to stay that way, then i will be reassured. I received the package on saturday with many thanks, the cigarettes are very good. The “rolled” ones from your hand, mom, taste particularly good. If you really can spare condensed milk, i would be delighted if you would send me a can. Thank you very much for your lines, dad. I am always particularly pleased about them, as you are always tired from work. It’s still the same business here, always on duty and back on duty. But we always have a good sense of humor despite this. That can't really shock a viennese. There's nothing else to report from here. Finally, i'd like to thank you very much for the pictures and the package. Once again, warm greetings and kisses from your hansl. Date: 10 March 1941.
