View of Saint-Mammès, Alfred Sisley, circa 1880

In 1880, sisley moved from paris to veneux-nadon, a few miles southeast of fontainebleau, and remained in the region for the rest of his life. By the 1880s, the artist had adopted a vigorous style, applying the pigments in rich, dense strokes. Object Type: painting. Genre: landscape painting. Date: circa 1880. Dimensions: height: 45.5 cm (17.9 in); width: 73 cm (28.7 in); with frame: height: 80.1 cm (31.5 in); width: 99 cm (39 in); depth: 13 cm (5.1 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Depicted Place: Saint-Mammès.
