Reist per spoor, Nicolaas van de Vecht, circa 1932

Poster "travels by rail". The ns slogan safe, quick, affordable became very well known in the 1930s and remained in vogue after the war. A poster from around 1932 shows that the slogan was not yet well alliterated at first: safe, fast, comfortable. Apparently they quickly discovered that voordelig was doing better in the netherlands. The three promotional terms were represented by a signal at safety, a winged wheel and a traveler with a newspaper and cigar, slumped on a train bench. Date: circa 1932.
