this foot is a study for the famous painting representing a naked woman lying on her stomach, called the "blonde odalisque", from the munich pinacoteca. He was long thought to represent the young louis o'murphy, the object of a brief passion of king louis xv and portrayed at length by giacomo casanova in his memoirs.
