Medici family: the identy of this youth is not certain, and is often described as piero, son of lorenzo the magnificent. However, although the features are similar, the black bushy hair, the full mouth, curved eyebrows and dark eyes suggest that it is piero's son, lorenzo, grandson of lorenzo the magnificent. The inscription over the head, not visible in this cropped black and white photograph, says: piero di lorenzo di piero de medici. Date: 15th century.
