Granida and Daifilo by Jan Mijtens

Jan mijtens the hague circa 1614 - 1670 daifilo pours granida a drink of water oil on oak panel 74 x 60. 4 cm.;29 1/8 x 23 3/4 in. Mijtens painted another version of this theme, today in the rijksmuseum, amsterdam, datable to circa 1660. The putti here are found in reverse in a signed and dated painting of 1646 of bacchus and ariadne by mijtens, now in the hermitage, st. Petersburg. Date: 17th century.
