Old woman sitting under a tree and young man working the land. The book 'montoku jitsuroku' was written between 851 -879 on behalf of emperor montoku. Ono no takamura (802-852) refused to travel on a ship because he could not care for his parents. He was exiled to the island of oki, but was later forgiven because he was obedient to his parents.
