The traditional costume of tipu's infantry generally consists of a 'tyger jacket', a long purple woollen shirt with white diamond formed spots on it. On his head the soldier wears a red and white muslin turban, matching the red sash around his waist. Beneath his white trousers, his legs and feet are bare. Place of origin
